Rise Above Consensus Reality

It begins as a personal examination process.

And in that process we first-off come to realize that we did not, after all, “KNOW THYSELF.”

We realize with a start just how much we had bought into what we were handed, as regards the answer to the all-powerful question, “WHO AM I.”

We realize, with our jaws dropped, that an utterly unquestioned version of ourselves is driving the ship that is our lives… captaining the ship that is our lives according to the expected path, according to the well-worn trail.

Without having ever noticed it, there we are on the path of convention and social expectation. Our utter lack of self-creation and complete forgoing of imagination or vision running the show that is our lives. And then we wonder why we’re melancholic, anxious, and utterly unfulfilled.

Socrates had it right all those centuries ago in insisting that the unexamined life is not worth living.

So let us examine our lives.

The unexamined SELF is not worth being.

So let’s examine ourselves.

Let’s sit patiently, willingly, in the inquiry, “WHO AM I?”… And let’s allow the answers reveal themselves. The real answers. The unexpected answers. Let’s allow aspects of ourselves to present themselves to us, aspects that were right there for the tracking, but which we had never even noticed about ourselves.

Let’s reclaim ALL the unseen and unsung aspects of ourselves. Virtue and vice. Good and bad. Ugly and Beautiful.

Let’s take these clear-eyed observations of the self—let’s honor the fruits of these self-discoveries—and move on into the self-creation phase of the journey.

For knowing who you are is a matter of self-discovery AND self-creation. You must excavate your life’s landscape and embark on an inner journey to analyze what makes you YOU. And having done that, you are now equipped to make art out of those ingredients.

As in… if you have on hand a certain set of ingredients, then you can ponder the exact kind of cake you can best bake. You can identify the codes for the exact kind of cake that you are… and which icing would go best with that…

These codes are all factory-installed within you. And having identified the codes of who you are, then it becomes up to you to actually bake that delectable, gourmet cake that is you.

A deep understanding, honoring, embracing, and outright LOVING of your ingredients enables you become the scrumptious confection that you are… and then this state of deliciousness gets reflected at the very core of how you live your life.

But this entire process of discovering your unique raw materials starts with being honest with yourself. Brutally honest. No more fibbing, contorting, or not allowing your left hand to see what your right hand is doing.

Discovering who you are starts with letting yourself think what you actually think. With letting yourself believe what you actually believe. With letting yourself think differently than others. With letting yourself think originally. With letting yourself be liberated from “consensus reality.”

And as you give yourself ever more permission to think what you truly think, you will slowly but surely start fundamentally rearranging your life to reflect what you truly think.

Once you start honoring your truth, you won’t be able to maintain any lies you are living. You won’t be able to keep up appearances. You won’t be able to set your compass to protect your image.

You won’t be able to angle yourself to “fit in.” You won’t be able to force yourself to toe the line. You won’t be able to navigate your ship along coordinates that are calculated to “impress” and to gain applause and approval and accolades.

And as you embrace your truth… and live your truth… the world will follow suit.

The truth will set us all free. One courageous individual at a time.

The whole world will be changed via a process of every one of us refusing to live the lies we are ensconced in. Little lies, and big lies. Webs of deception, distortion, and contortion, large and small.

The dawning of the honoring of the truth will equal the dawning of heaven on earth.

We will birth a world where we are not lying—nor even just subtly contorting ourselves in order to fit in, or to maintain rank. And because the world mirrors us, our newfound prioritization of the truth that lies within ourselves, will be reflected in the world outside of us.

The world around us will gradually morph into a world where we are not being lied to by others. Where trickery isn’t the name of the game. And where corruption isn’t rampant. And where sleight of hand no longer wins the day.

No longer will we lie. No longer will we be bamboozled by loved ones. No longer will we be hoodwinked by the so-called “powers that be.”

Let’s allow for a full-scale dawning of truth. The truth that will set us all free. The truth that will land us in a world where we are all personally empowered, sovereign, self-authorized… all while living the principle of “AHIMSA”—aka, doing no harm.

Yes, it is perfectly possible to be empowered… and yet to not be abusing that power.

And that is precisely our call to action: To be self-actualized and self-governing… all while allowing others to be that as well.

To prize our own perceptions… while allowing others to prize theirs.

To treasure our own truth while NOT imposing it onto other people.
