Embrace the Both/And

Both/And.
That’s the song of my soul.
A song that soars beyond the limitations…
and outright lies…
of the “either/or” paradigm.

Both/And.
It’s the truth of things.
The natural order of things.

For reality is layered, nuanced, complex, and paradoxical.
And by extension…
so is the song of my soul.

The song of my soul is written in the key of mixing.
Of blending, blurring, and breaking through boundaries.

The song of my soul has a consistent theme…
Of reconciling differences.
Of weaving disparate elements.
Of braiding.
Of bridging.

My soul sings on repeat a song…
Of *Integration*.
Personal… Individual…
Cultural… Collective.

The background music of my life is…
a song sung in harmonic, resonant notes of *Interconnectivity*.
A glorious, pleasing melody of *Oneness*.

Let us write, speak, and sing…
powerful, soul-stirring lyrics…
ushering in the transcendence of duality.

Our words have incredible power.
Our words create.
So let us do just that.
Let us create with our words.

The lyrics emblazoned across my soul…
herald the overcoming of division.

The words my inner compass is set to…
MOVE us.
Touch us.
Inspire us.
And *move* us beyond seeing in black or white.

Ensconced, mired, stuck as we are in a black/white paradigm, the natural question to arise is:
HOW?
HOW do we transform our thinking to allow for the both/and?

HOW do we attune to the ever-present paradoxes?
HOW do we account for the very real complexities?

We start by acknowledging that “the problem” lives within us.
And will be resolved within us.

Through mastering our thinking AND our inner game, we will BE THE CHANGE…
and we will thereby change the game.

It does require being taught HOW…
taught how to think differently… fruitfully… truthfully.
And once we know how, it takes consistent practice.
A process of transformation…
And of overcoming.

But with those things in place, anyone can learn to think in both/and… at least proficiently.

Overcoming division comes more naturally for some than others.
But we can all learn.

And as we learn…
We can be loving, understanding, patient, and compassionate with one another.
Honoring our varying skill levels.
At singing the One Song.

Love + Oneness,
Naomi
