Gratitude Causes Miracles
GRATITUDE
I reeeaaallly went in deep on that word this Thanksgiving.
I carried the word with me for days.
A couple weeks, honestly.
I let it dance within me.
A living, breathing force I was exuding.
A walking, talking meditation I was immersed in.
Going down memory lane…
thinking of how it takes a village…
thinking about my village.
OVERCOME with thank you’s… emanating from my heart.
Thinking about the webbings of people who have extended themselves to me…
gone out of their way for me…
opened their heart to me, and kept it open.
Loved ones.
Strangers.
Family.
Friends.
Acquaintances.
So many have offered me so much.
I can be such a solo artist…
And even so, the influence of others upon me is profound.
Indeed, we are all shaped fundamentally by our fellow human beings.
Little gestures have mattered so much me…
small kindnesses peppering the path.
Small but significant.
Making all the difference.
Moving the needle.
And the grand gestures are awe-inspiring, too… bonafide miracles manifesting before our eyes.
It can be startling…
the generosity that comes our way.
The incredible fortune.
All because of someone’s heart of gold.
Someone’s thoughtfulness.
Someone’s consideration.
Someone’s forbearance.
I’m filled with awe and wonder when I think about the trail of human-angels who have lined my path…
to help to bolster me, steward me, guide me, heal me, encourage me, inspire me, bestow bounty upon me, open a door for me, or outright rescue me.
Instances of jaw-dropping grace… big and small.
Favor and blessings, earned or not. Deserved or not.
Deserving irrelevant to the equation.
Just good fortune on tap…
Even if that equation also has woven into it *misfortune*.
Yes…
I’m grateful for the *misfortune* that good fortune comes with. Because our problems and challenges are rooted in our HAVING.
To HAVE automatically means to have problems.
Problems are not in the way, they are the way.
Problems come with life.
To be grateful for our problems, then, is to be grateful for our lives.
To be grateful for our misfortune is to be grateful for the life we’ve been given.
To HAVE a life makes misfortune possible… and therefore sacred.
Love + Oneness,
Naomi
