Let’s Unite, Not Divide

We’re in the wrong game…
The game of making others wrong.
And making ourselves right.

We didn’t get the memo…
That it’s our task to UNITE with others.
To connect with others.
To be a bridge.

And not to divide ourselves from one another.

We neglected to observe…
That we are to refuse the rampant divide-and-conquer tactics being weaponized against us.
That we are to reject the aggressive “cordoning-off” process, from our fellow humans.

And honor our interconnectivity.

We didn’t take it under consideration that…
The very things we’re “against” in others are
alive within us, too.
For we reify that which we critique.

We become a version of that which we oppose.

We failed to realize…
That we get zero points for hating, judging, maligning, and demonizing others.
And doing so while entirely overlooking our own foibles, flaws, and failings.

We didn’t read the rules of the game…
which stated clearly, in bold font, that:
We only get points for LOVING…
Across our very real differences.

We didn’t understand the call to action…
Which is to endeavor to truly understand where others are coming from.

We didn’t grasp…
That to truly understand others, we must step out of our shoes and into their shoes.

We didn’t get it…
That disagreements are in large part misunderstandings.
That WE are seeing through a filter.
That WE are limited by our very own lens.

We didn’t tap into the timeless, universal wisdom that…
We see things as WE are, not as THEY are.

We didn’t bear in mind the high truth that…
When you change the way you see things, the things you see will change.

We didn’t keep at the fore…
That we are meant to be Creators…
Not Reactors.
That we ARE, in fact, the creators of our own reality…

AND can proactively have a hand in creating the reality we wish to see in the world.

We didn’t grok that…
If we want others to change…
WE have to change.

We have to BE THE CHANGE we wish to see in the world.
We have to role-model that change.
Now.
In the present.
Under the current circumstances.

No longer lamenting others’ perspectives and perceptions.
Instead, fine-tuning our own.

No longer blaming… shaming… misperceiving… projecting upon… and
casting aspersions on others.

Naomi
